That’s why we want to dive a little deeper into InHerSight.com’s recent list of “Best Companies for Women in Columbus Ohio,” and tell you more about the companies that empower members of their community every day.
Inhersight.com’s list was based off 18 different piece of criteria including:

All of the data was compiled based on anonymous surveys of the women at each company. So here it is -- a quick breakdown of the best companies for women in Columbus, Ohio.
Taking the number one spot on our list, Ericsson is a telecommunications company based with over 10,000 employees. Ericsson’s primary points of strength for their female employees include paid maternity leave, healthcare access, and a variety of management opportunities for the women who work them. Ericsson plans to increase their number of female employees by 30% by 2020, and that includes women in management and other leadership roles. This means that a women looking to focus both on her career and her family has the best of both worlds working for Ericsson.
Lululemon Athletica, as a large retailer of high-end workout clothes and athleisure, is a great place for women to work in the Columbus area. The company ranks high for their expansive wellness initiatives, female representation in leadership, and inherent equality between male and female employees. As a company that looks to stress the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle to their employees and customers, Lululemon Athletica truly puts in the energy and time into ensuring their employees are viewed as valuable assets to the company.
As a large company based in Texas with a branch in Columbus, Alliance Data takes the number three spot on the list of best employers for women in Columbus. Alliance Data is and advertising and marketing company that ranks well for wellness initiatives, family benefits, and female representation in leadership roles. These rankings come from the extensive list of employee benefits, including (but not limited to) adoption assistance, scholarships for dependents, tuition reimbursement, fitness reimbursements, and time off for volunteering.
IGS Energy is an Ohio-based energy company looking to innovate energy sources for a more environmentally friendly future. IGS takes the number four spot on the list for its variety of health and wellness opportunities, including paid time off and family leave, and an equal work environment between men and women. The company also sponsors a variety of events to boost company culture and morale, making it a great company for a woman looking to grow professionally and socially.
As a company designed to empowering growing female entrepreneurs, Thirty-One Gifts creates products to make women’s lives easier and allow women to run their own business. Fidelity Investments is a large company based in Boston, Massachusetts with a variety of opportunities for professional women in the Columbus area. With a variety of benefits that include expansive wellness initiative, paid maternity and paternity leave, and tuition reimbursement, Fidelity Investments looks to invest in the employees lives and wellbeing. Additionally, the company has a women’s affiliate group to ensure equality and empowerment of some of the company’s most valuable human assets.

Procter and Gamble - more commonly known as P&G - is a large Fortune 50 company that creates consumer goods we use in our everyday lives. The company takes the #9 spot on our list for high rankings in paid family leave, management opportunities for women, and professional development and learning opportunities. Turner Construction Company
As a worldwide construction company, Turner Construction Company seems like an odd company to rank in the top ten employers for women in Columbus. However, with high rankings in learning opportunities, paid time off, and equal opportunity between men and women, it makes our list. The company works to support women find opportunities in an otherwise male-dominated industry, creating opportunities for empowerment in a variety of ways.
